Brief introduction: ESWL is the recommended therapy for around 80% of all stones, because it is safe, quick, effective and non-invasive. The effectiveness of ESWL depends largely on the composition and size of the stone. For stones measuring less than or equal to 2.5 cm, success rates are around 94%. Intended Use: ESWL works best for all sorts of kidney stones measuring between 5 mm and 25 mm and for ureteral stones in the middle and upper third. Softer stones such as uric acid stones etc. disintegrate very easily however hard stones like calcium oxalate monohydrate or cystine stones require multiple sittings.
Side-effect: Some patients will see blood in their urine for a time. This is normal as the stone particles pass. Occasionally, Discomfort or fever may occur as the stone pieces pass.

The graphical human machine interface of the TMC-X4 allows easy and quick communication with all functions like, lithotripsy settings, X-ray operation, patient stretcher positioning and shock wave energy control. The design is easy to learn and requires minimal training. The access to the motorized movements of the treatment table, therapy unit and X-ray U-arm are provided by the simple press of a button. Easy to understand and use icons and menus not only allow quick familiarity with the system, but also provide complete details on system health, usage statistics, error log and troubleshooting

The ‘X4’ has its own little brain inside the main unit, which has greatly extended its capabilities. The system has an automatically adjusted shockwave energy control and X-ray exposure control, which provides improved treatment efficacy, patient comfort and faster therapy process. The ‘X4’ keeps a the track of your system and reminds you whenever the consumables like Electrode, Coupling Membrane, SWG, Conductive fluid etc. needs to be changed. X-Ray Localization
The 'TMC-X4' uses a U-Arm mounted X-ray and Image intensifier system as a default method for Stone Localization. If you need Ultrasound localization it can be provided on request.
X-ray Localisation
X-ray Localisation has been a proven golden standard for pin-point accurate targeting of calculi for Shock Wave Lithotripsy. The TMC-X4 incorporates specifically designed fluoroscopy X-ray U-Arm and an optional ultrasound attachment which can be used for precise stone positioning and real time monitoring respectively. Precise targeting can be achieved in the 'X4' due to the isocentric design of the fluoroscopic U-Arm, which is pre-aligned at the point of F2, reducing the chances of human error in focalising with a separate therapy head and imaging system, like a C-arm
The X-Ray dose administered to the patient during the treatment on The TMC-X4 has been highly minimized, by reducing the distance between the patient and the image intensifier. The U-Arm automatically swivels to provide view in two projections, straight and oblique for precise stone localization. The calculi are adjusted using two projection directions, while the view to the focus area is maintained, even for all intermediary positions. The high resolution CCD camera and Color LCD monitor provides superior high contrast images which can be easily viewed at a wide range and angle.
